About the Seal

The seal (Phoca vitulina) is found along the coasts of the North Atlantic and North Pacific. It spends most of its life in the water but regularly rests on sandbars, rocks, or ice floes. An excellent swimmer, it feeds primarily on fish, crabs, and squid and can stay underwater for several minutes.
