About the Emperor Penguin

The Emperor Penguin (Aptenodytes forsteri) is the largest living penguin species and inhabits the icy coasts of Antarctica. It is exceptionally well-adapted to life in extreme cold and can dive to depths of over 500 meters. The emperor penguin is also famous for its extraordinary breeding behavior, in which the males incubate the egg on their feet during the Antarctic winter.
