About the Leopard Triggerfish
The Leopard triggerfish (Balistoides conspicillum) lives in the tropical coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. With its high-contrast pattern of black, white, and yellow patches, it is one of the most striking reef fish in the world. Its English name Clown Triggerfish derives from its extraordinary markings. Like other triggerfish, it has strong teeth that it uses to crack open clams, sea urchins, and crustaceans.
