About the Giant Squid

The giant squid (Architeuthis dux) lives in the depths of the world’s oceans and is one of the largest invertebrates on Earth. With its long tentacles, it can reach total lengths of over 10 meters. Because it inhabits depths of several hundred meters, it is rarely observed and is still considered one of the most mysterious animals in the oceans. It feeds mainly on fish and other squid and is itself preyed upon by sperm whales.
