About the Soldierfish

The Soldierfish (Myripristis murdjan) lives in the coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Its large eyes are perfectly adapted to life at twilight and at night. During the day, it hides in caves and crevices, while at night it goes in search of food, feeding mainly on zooplankton and small crustaceans. Its bright red coloration makes it one of the most striking inhabitants of tropical coral reefs.
