The White-tipped reef shark (Triaenodon obesus) lives in the tropical coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. Its striking white fin tips make it easily recognizable. During the day, it often rests in caves or under rock overhangs, while at night it goes in search of food. As an important predator, it contributes to the ecological balance of the reefs.
