About the Pallet Doctor Fish

The Pallet Doctorfish (Paracanthurus hepatus) lives in the coral reefs of the Indo-Pacific. With its bright blue coloration, black markings, and yellow tail, it is one of the world’s most recognizable reef fish. Like all surgeonfish, it has sharp bony plates at the base of its tail that serve as a defense mechanism.
