About North Sea Shrimp

North Sea shrimp (Crangon crangon) live along the coasts of the North Sea and the northeastern Atlantic. They inhabit shallow sandy and muddy bottoms and feed on small bottom-dwelling animals. Although it is colloquially referred to as a “crab,” biologically it is a shrimp. It is one of the most popular edible crustaceans in Europe and plays an important role in the North Sea ecosystem.
