About the Napoleon Wrasse
The Napoleon wrasse (Cheilinus undulatus) lives in the coral reefs of the Indian and Pacific Oceans and is one of the largest reef fish in the world. Adult specimens can grow to over two meters in length. Characteristic features include its powerful lips and the distinctive bulge on its forehead, which resembles Napoleon’s hat and gave the species its name. The Napoleon wrasse feeds on mollusks, crustaceans, and sea urchins, among other things, and is one of the most important predators in the coral reef.
