About the Giant Grouper

The giant grouper (Balistoides viridescens) is the largest member of the triggerfish family and inhabits tropical coral reefs in the Indo-Pacific. With its powerful teeth, it can crack even the hard shells of sea urchins and clams. During the breeding season, it vigorously defends its territory and is therefore considered particularly aggressive by divers.
