About the Day Octopus

The Day Octopus (Blue-ringed octopus) lives in coral reefs and shallow coastal waters of the Indo-Pacific, often in lagoons and on reef tops. Its arms can reach a span of up to 1.3 meters, and it weighs about 5 to 6 kg. Its diet includes crabs, shrimp, lobsters, and small fish.

Unlike many other octopus species, the day octopus is primarily active during daylight hours. It is an excellent hunter and can change the color and texture of its skin in an instant. It uses this ability both to camouflage itself from predators and to sneak up on its prey.
