About the Reins Dolphin

The Rope Dolphin (Stenella frontalis) lives in the tropical and warm-temperate waters of the Atlantic Ocean, particularly in coastal regions, over the continental shelf, and in open waters. It reaches a length of about 1.7 to 2.5 meters and weighs 60 to 150 kg. The characteristic spots on its body develop only as it ages. Long-finned dolphins are highly social animals; they live in groups and use echolocation for foraging and communication. They feed primarily on fish, squid, and small crustaceans.
