About the Wall Reef Turtle

The barrier reef turtle (Natator depressus) is found exclusively in the coastal waters of northern Australia, making it one of the few endemic sea turtle species. It is characterized by its flat carapace and its preference for shallow coastal waters and sandy bottoms. Unlike most other sea turtles, it migrates only over relatively short distances and remains in Australian waters throughout its life.
